Toddler Tonsillectomy: When is the worst over?

My daughter had a T and A as well as an M and T (tonsils and adenoids out and tubes in ears) on Thursday so tomorrow will be day 5. Yesterday was brutal and today was the best. Is the worst over? Parents to toddlers who had this operation... when did you notice your child suffering the most?
